Why Cairns?

Rock cairns are human-made piles or stacks of rocks that symbolize different things. In the past, cairns have been used to mark burial/significant sites and in modern day usage, they often signify guidance and direction. The metaphor of both the past and present uses is one that lends itself well to my practice – I want to support and guide individuals through the big moments of their lives and through the small ones too. This also aligns with my focus to change the relationship with what ‘traditionally’ brings people to counseling or therapy.

Just as maps and navigation are a normal part of our day-to-day lives, I’d like to take the stigma out of therapy and make this form of self-care just as common as opening Google Maps. Cairns signify the balance I hope to help you achieve and the guidance they offer those who are feeling a bit stuck. I would be honored to help you find your own cairns in your daily life.

Why cairns and what do they have to do with my life?

Awareness. Flexibility. Connection.
